In this satsang teaching, Tom Das explores when the soul turns home – the inner shift from chasing pleasure, security, and status, to longing for Moksha, or liberation.
Using the Biblical story of the Prodigal Son, Tom points to the “pig‑sty moment”: that subtle switch that flips when the mind grows tired of kama (pleasure), artha (security), and dharma (duty/status), and begins to seek its true home in the Self. Through the traditional framework of these four human pursuits, he shows how every experience eventually turns us toward the one question that matters: “Who am I?”
Referencing Guru Vachaka Kovai, verse 8, and the analogy of the actor in a theatre who forgets – yet never stops being – who he truly is, this talk clarifies the two fundamental tendencies within us:
The sat vasana (or atma vasana): the pull toward truth, the Self, “I am”
The asat vasana (also called maya or vishaya vasana): the pull toward the unreal, illusion, and arising phenomena
This satsang is words and silent guidance to be what you are – an invitation to recognize your nature as sat‑chit‑ananda (truth, consciousness, bliss) and rest more naturally as the formless awareness that is already home.
